Family Day

*FROM 9/23*

This morning we got to sleep in until 11 am it was wonderful! When we woke up we found Shiri and her mom playing backgammon so when they finished I played shiri (but she won ☹) For breakfast we had the dessert from the bbq b/c we missed eating it last night when we went to aroma. Then shiri and her parents taught us how to play mini-bridge so we played for a while (I got 2nd). After that we relaxed and then had lunch. For lunch we had left over kabobs, pita, and chicken/veggies/noodles with soy sauce. Like all the food our host family had given us it was really good! After lunch Shiri, Yael, and I played Israeli monopoly. But then we decided to make cookies or s’mores. We decided on s’mores because we couldn’t find the sugar, but we couldn’t really roast the marshmallows so we put them in the microwave. It was gross, but we ate it anyway. Then we got ready to the Tel Aviv harbor. We got there during sunset and the view was beautiful (don’t worry I took pictures. We walked around for a while and then Shiri’s friend Mor (who is joining us on Yam L’ Yam) came. Then we went to dinner at Max Brenner’s (which is basically a restaurant full of chocolate). The four girls (shiri, yael, mor, and I) ate separately from Shiri’s parents and brothers. We shared a chicken with mandarin sauce salad and schnitzel. Then for dessert we got this thing called Sharing which included chocolate founde, a chocolate egg roll, toffee banana, vanilla ice cream, an chocolate shot. It was amazing but I was so full afterwards. Then we went back to Shiri’s house and Mor slept over. I am so sad our home stay is over but I know we will hang out with shiri and her friends and family again (especially b/c we will see some of them on Sunday).
